Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou Forging Global Connections

In September 2023, ten students from various state schools across the United Kingdom were given full scholarships to do their A Levels at Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou in China, thanks to the ‘Engage with China’ Scholarship Programme. The Programme is led by Mr William Vanbergen, Founder of BE Education and Chairman of the WAS Global Advisory Board, and Mrs H-J Colston-Inge, Director and Founding Trustee of Engage with China.

The 10 scholars who were chosen are exceptionally gifted young individuals with a deep interest in China. Since September 2023, these ten students from the UK have become integral members of the WASCZ community, blossoming, acquiring new knowledge, and stretching their boundaries alongside the existing cohort of 1,200 students. They are gearing up for A Level examinations and preparing university applications.

The ‘Engage with China’ programme has been such a success thus far that it will expand its offering to 30 students in the 2024-2025 school year. This programme offers a unique experience to students from both China and the UK, as well as to the broader community.
