Appointment of New Executive Headmaster at Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing

Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing recently announced that Mr Matthew Jamieson will join the School as the new Executive Headmaster starting in April 2025. This transition allows for a smooth handover from the outgoing Executive Headmaster, Mr Christopher Chadwick, who will retire at the end of the academic year.

Matthew joins the School from Sherborne School, where he served as Interim Headmaster, and has previous experience as Assistant Head at Brighton College and Housemaster at Bedford School. His diverse interests include current affairs, opera, classical music, and long-distance running. He is also a former junior international hockey player and has experience leading an expedition to Everest Base Camp.

Educated at Millfield School on a scholarship and holding a degree in history from the University of Birmingham, Matthew is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of East London. He has also served in the British Army, which has enhanced his leadership skills.

Matthew expressed his enthusiasm for joining Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing, emphasizing the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic education. Meanwhile, Mr Chadwick will assist during the transition period, reflecting on his privilege in leading the School.

Please join us in welcoming Matthew and supporting him in his new role. We are excited about the future of Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing.
