Building Community: How Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong Supports Every Child Through Parent Partnership
23 September 2025 - Hong Kong
Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong (WASHK) believes that education flourishes when families and teachers work together. Their approach to parent partnership emphasises trust, communication and a shared dedication to each child’s academic, social and emotional growth.
The academic year kicks off with Parent Information Evenings, where families and educators unite to lay the groundwork for a successful year. These sessions offer valuable insights into the curriculum, key milestones and ways to support children both in and outside the classroom, fostering connections between parents and form tutors.

One of the highlights of the School year is the Parent–Student Immersive Learning Afternoon, where parents actively participate in classroom activities. This hands-on experience enhances parents’ understanding of the learning process, enabling them to better support their children at home. Additionally, the Wellbeing Evenings feature expert discussions on important topics like screen time and mindfulness, while Morning Coffee Chats provide a relaxed setting for parents to discuss adapting to life in Hong Kong and fostering independence.
To strengthen community ties, we host engaging family events such as pickleball tournaments and Italian cooking classes, promoting learning and bonding outside the classroom. Effective communication is vital to our parent partnership; the weekly newsletters keep families updated on School activities and the Curriculum.com platform allows parents to track their children’s academic progress in real-time.

At WASHK, parent partnership is central to their mission. Through collaborative experiences and ongoing dialogue, they create a supportive community where every child can thrive. Together, they nurture confident students, connected families and a stronger community year after year.
